Drawing workshops at Royal Academy of Arts and Freud Museum led by Fay, 2022-24

Although Fay isn’t currently drawing plants, she enjoys teaching and sharing her skills with others. Over a weekend in June 2024, Fay taught 22 students to draw and paint plants at the Royal Academy of Arts. She also taught an on-line workshop for the RA Saturday Sketch Club in November 2023, reaching out to several hundred students from across the world.

In addition, she led a workshop at the Freud Museum in July 2023 and 2022 where students were invited to spend the day drawing and painting in Freud’s garden. The psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud, came to live in Hampstead in the late 1930s and took a keen interest in his garden. His house and garden are now a museum. In May 2023, Fay led a workshop in the museum where students drew a personal object chosen by them that held special meaning.This was one of several educational events to coincide with exhibition ‘Freud’s Antiquity: Object, Idea, Desire’ at the Freud Museum inspired by Freud’s vast collection of antiquities.
