Field Trip to Transylvania, July 2016

Fay spent two weeks drawing and recording rare native wildflowers growing on the pastures near Viscri and Zalanpatak in Romania for the Transylvania Florilegium, commissioned by The Prince’s Foundation. She was one of six artists visiting in July and was part of a larger project involving 36 artists over a six-year period. The watercolours were published in a fine-art facsimile limited edition in two volumes (Addison Publications). This project follows from the Highgrove Florilegium in 2004. Fay was one of a group of artists who had been commissioned by The Prince’s Foundation to draw and paint plants growing at Highgrove in Gloucestershire.
