Visiting artist Hammersmith Hospital NHS, 2017 and 2018

Fay was a visiting artist in the acute Auchi Dialysis Unit at Hammersmith Hospital in 2017 and 2018 offering practical art workshops to patients at their bedsides, part of the Imperial College Health Charity Audience Engagement Programme. Her work began as a conversation between patient and artist that blossomed into collaborative art workshops. Some patients wanted to learn a skill such as painting with watercolour or learning to draw in perspective. Others wanted to make collages or small gifts for family and friends. Fay wrote a weekly blog for Imperial College detailing her patients’ work and some of the profound bedside conversations. Fay was then invited to sit on the Imperial Arts Committee overseeing delivery of audience engagement programmes, art displays and residencies.
