Plants

Fay’s early drawing focused on plants, mostly everyday vegetables, and weeds. In 2004 and 2016, she was invited to participate in two florilegium projects for The Prince’s Foundation, first to record plants growing at Highgrove, and second, to draw rare wildflowers growing in Transylvania.

The paintings were exhibited in UK and abroad including Garden Museum, National Gallery Romania, Huntington Library Los Angeles and New York School of Art and Design.

Each florilegium was published in a pair of limited edition facsimile handmade publications (Addison Publications).

In 2018, Fay was commissioned by the Royal College of Physicians to draw plants growing in its medicinal garden for a book on contemporary herbals and exhibition to mark its centenary.
